Ok time to be serious with this blog

So I am still pen palling and I have several ladies who I have formed good friendships with... isn't that what it is all about?  The latest thing I have gotten involved involved in is exchanging greeting cards around the world. Even when I was a child I loved greeting cards... getting them and sending them.  It is fun celebrating obscure holidays with cute cards. 
I am sharing the National Kissing Day card I made.... excuse the blurry photo but you'll be able to see it :) 

So you see even if they don't make cards for a holiday you can have fun making your own!!!

So I promise to be more focused on sharing what I learn in pen palling if you promise to visit often !!!

Happy Wednesday ... wonder how much mail I'll get today?

I love going to my mail box and getting letters, notes and swap packages... to many it's such a small thing but to those of us who pen pal we "get it".  I have a few of my pen pals that I can say I will probably be friends with for a long time....similar interests, backgrounds or just good conversation !

So my next venture... because my ADHD mind won't let me just be happy with one thing LOL is Pocket Letters... I have purchased some items needed/wanted and can't wait to get started on my first one... What is a pocket letter you ask??? Well it's a bit of heaven folded over and mailed to a friend a mix of scrap booking, swapping and pen palling all in one !!!!

I have several letters to get to today ~ and found some neat little things to tuck in ... one of the best things I think I like about pen palling is finding out the likes of your pen pals and when you are out and about shopping seeing that one little thing that you KNOW they will love and knowing they will be surprised when they open their letter..... I'm all about RAK's (random acts of kindness) I think that's kinda how we all make it through this big 'ole thing called life... that and a lot of laughter !!

Hi ! In this day of everything being fast... emails, texts etc I find solace in the fact that there are still people out there who enjoy the slower lane in life... snail mail, pen pals, fountain pens.  Even when I was a young girl I loved going to the Post Office ... there was something magical about our local post office.. the smell, the sounds and I still love it today. 

 They are getting used to me going in to purchase stamps (even get updates about new stamps coming.. and when new stamps come in they make sure to ask if I want them; a benefit of being in a small community they know who I am when I walk in)  mailing small packages and discussing stamps from overseas.  

I also have a new found love for fountain pens... I ordered 17 samples of ink from Andersen Pens.  They have pages and pages of ink samples you can buy and try.  You get 3 ml of ink and I have filled my fountain pen 3 times and still have another fill available.. for a range of 1.20 -2.50 (depending on the ink) you can't go wrong and if you are ADHD like me... the ability to change inks on a whim and on a dime is PERFECT.  

I have purchased several pens from Ipen Store I have been extremely happy with the prices and the quickness of shipping from this store !  If you are looking for a variety of pens and a range of price from very affordable to "wow I need to win the lottery" this is a good store to shop at !! 

So where do you find pen pals?  Well a quick Google search will take you to many many pen pals sites on the web... and the Mom in me must tell you please use caution and don't give out too much information on the web... "safety first"   Of course if you are on Facebook you can find pen pal groups all over the place.... again you have to be cautious of who you give your info to.... I have been very lucky to find several great pen pals with the same hobbies as I have and even some who don't but I am learning new things and truly enjoy interacting with them .

I will share some of the groups I am in and share how I like to decorate my envelopes, where I find stationery etc throughout different posts .. and if anyone has questions feel free to ask I'll answer if I can !!
